Today’s segmentation tools force enterprise marketers to choose between tools that are far too technical and tools that lack the powerful capabilities they need. MessageGears Segment bridges this gap with an incredibly powerful and flexible segmentation engine that’s designed for marketers who want to understand their users and deliver seamless, relevant experiences across any touchpoint.
MessageGears Segment Blueprints make it easy to visually segment customers through an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, and empower marketers to segment using all available data, regardless of data storage.
Below, we will walk through how to easily create dynamic, visual segmentation powered by your live customer data — but first, here are a few things to remember about visual segmentation in MessageGears Segment:
- The simple drag-and-drop interface paired with direct data access allows deep segmentation in a fraction of the time it takes other platforms.
- While building out your segmentation, you can add or remove targets at any time to meet your current needs, and view the information referenced in your Target Node.
- You can enhance your existing data by creating and defining labels within individual segments, enhancing the flexibility of personalization per segment.
Visual Segmentation Walkthrough
Depending on your starting population and your goals for customer engagement, building out customer segments with typical visual segmentation tools can take a long time and be labor-intensive. Using MessageGears Segment to build out visual segmentation lowers the overall time to iterate on a Blueprint and the effort needed to edit if needed.
In this example, I’ve already built out my visual segmentation here in our Blueprint. However, let’s pretend we no longer want to send Facebook ads to low-propensity customers at this step of the customer journey. Since that “intermediate” level no longer applies, but the rest of the visual segmentation below this point still does, we can easily view and remove this target or the whole level if we want.
As I mentioned above, I now have the ability to add/remove sensible intermediary steps with clear and definite consequences for the visual segmentation, and the option to undo in the top right corner. When creating or editing my Blueprint, I also view all of the operations inside each target node quickly, at a high level, to ensure I’ve included all of the information for that particular target group.
Additionally, MessageGears has an easy way to update my data using labels. If I’d like, I can then reference those labels in levels further down in my Blueprint.
How We’re Different
MessageGears Segment is fundamentally different from other campaign management and segmentation products in its simplicity and usability because of its direct connection to your live data. While other products provide a copy of your data that may be hours or days old, MessageGears gives you access to all of the live data in your database.
We’ve also had the benefit of learning from older and more technical campaign management tools, which is why MessageGears Segment is built from the ground up to be fundamentally marketer-driven. The core promise of our product is the ability for marketers to easily use their live data, meaning that each feature is added with special care that anyone can use the product, not just SQL writers and database developers.
Takeaways
MessageGears Segment is differentiated from other campaign management and segmentation products in its simplicity and usability for a marketing user. Today, we’ve seen that where other tools require heavy involvement from I.T. and CRM, Segment allows marketers to quickly segment and export groups of recipients. This allows you to save time and money while using Segment artifacts that you’ve already created.
