Roger has extensive experience leading and growing technology businesses. Prior to MessageGears, he was President of IgnitionOne, formerly named SearchIgnite and founded by Mr. Barnette. He has grown that business from inception to one of the world’s largest digital media platforms. IgnitionOne was ranked one of the best places to work in Atlanta by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Previous growth leadership positions include Biltmore Communications (acquired by DIRECTV) and eTour (acquired by Ask.com).
Roger has received numerous awards including the Atlanta Internet Marketer of The Year award and Emory’s Goizueta Business School Outstanding Recent Alumni award. He is a member of YPO – Southern 7 Chapter and is a mentor at Techstars Atlanta. Roger is a frequent guest speaker at industry conferences and is regularly cited in major media outlets. He holds an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business and a BS in Computer and Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina.
Chief Product Officer, Co-Founder
Dan guides MessageGears’ product strategy and development. Previously, he served as CTO at Accucast, a pioneer in email marketing acquired by PGi. Accucast’s customers included Bank of America, Travelocity, and Walmart.com. Previously Dan was with Delta Air Lines where he was instrumental in building its award-winning website and e-commerce platform. Having worked with many of the world’s largest online businesses, Dan understands the importance of data to digital marketers and the challenges they face with existing email marketing solutions. Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the University of West Georgia and an MBA from Georgia State University.
Chief Technology Officer
Craig Pohan is a technology entrepreneur and software engineer with almost 20 years of experience establishing digital companies to tackle market demands, making him the perfect addition to MessageGears’ technical team.
Prior to joining MessageGears, Pohan served as CTO for multiple leading digital marketing agencies. As the CTO for 360i, he fostered the growth of a 40-person boutique agency to a nationwide, multi-channel digital marketing leader of over 500 professionals. At IgnitionOne, Pohan led teams that developed, maintained and operated a technology platform, which optimized five marketing channels to internet-scale globally. While in that position, he built solutions for clients such as General Motors Company, La Quinta Inns & Suites, CenturyLink Inc. and Lenovo PC International.
Pohan’s experience building enterprise content personalization systems began in the late 1990s with Accenture, followed by UBS and eventually at scale with iWon.com. As iWon.com grew, he built scaled search marketing products up until the acquisition by Ask.com and, ultimately, IAC.
Walter Rowland brings considerable experience and pedigree to his position as SVP sales, sales development, and account-based marketing at MessageGears. A Harvard University graduate with an MBA in finance from Columbia University, he began his career in the mid-1990s at start-up NMP Inc., where he held progressively senior positions in business development as the company grew, was acquired, went public, and was acquired again.
In 2004, he was hired to build United Management Technologies Inc.’s sales in North America. In little more than a year, he grew UMT’s customer base by 200%, helping to secure its acquisition by Microsoft. After this development, Rowland ran sales, marketing, and partnerships at UMT Consulting Group, a spin-off from the original company that operated as a Microsoft partner, and which was ultimately acquired by Ernst & Young.
In 2008, Rowland joined technology consulting firm Northridge Systems as its chief revenue officer. After Northridge was acquired by Perficient in 2012, he went on to become a national director on the four-person Perficient corporate marketing leadership team, which oversaw a staff of 45. In this role, Rowland built a national B2B sales development, inside sales, and marketing automation team and function, which over the course of three years influenced over $180 million in pipeline and $60 million in bookings.
VP, Account Management
Christopher Brown, MessageGears’ VP of Account Management, has years of rich experience and expertise in helping enterprise brands grow their marketing programs. Prior to joining the Atlanta-based enterprise ESP, Chris held client success leadership roles at Selligent, IBM, Oracle, and Axciom. Widely regarded as a “guru” of consumer insight, Chris has a focused perspective on today’s “always-on” world and how enterprise businesses can deliver world-class marketing programs.
Sr. Director, Marketing
A 14 year veteran of the email marketing industry, Will Devlin has been focused on leading marketing strategy and execution for MessageGears since 2014. Prior to joining the Atlanta-based enterprise ESP, he led marketing and strategic services at ShopVisible, an eCommerce software provider, and previously spent nearly a decade managing eCommerce and customer service for Gander Mountain and Overton’s, an Internet Retailer Top 250 company.
An accomplished tech marketer and industry expert, Will holds a BSBA in Marketing and has contributed to publications such as Investor’s Business Daily, Internet Retailer, Multichannel Merchant, and CIO.com, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Email Experience Council, the email marketing arm of the Data & Marketing Association.
As Finance Director at MessageGears, Ari Koteles will be responsible for creating and driving its overall financial strategy. He will conduct and oversee all financial modeling and reporting activities, maintain banking and investor relationships, analyze key performance indicators and ensure that the company is well positioned for long-term growth.
Koteles holds a B.S. in finance and marketing from the University of Virginia. He began his career in investment banking, working alongside entrepreneurs to raise growth capital and achieve successful business outcomes.
Prior to joining MessageGears, Koteles worked in corporate development for Turner Broadcasting. His experiences ranged from international content acquisition deals to equity investment rounds in leading media technology and digital publishing companies.
Principal Engineer, Co-Founder
Taylor leads account management, support, and deliverability at MessageGears. Previously, Taylor spearheaded the deliverability team at PGi where he also played a key role in the development of the predecessor to the MessageGears system. Prior to PGi, Taylor specialized in artificial intelligence at Applied Systems Intelligence. Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Georgia.
